When I found out I was pregnant, I thought for sure that I wouldn’t be able to handle a baby shower. After we lost Liam and Sebastian last year, I was paranoid about any form of planning ahead. For the first two trimesters, I took things one day at a time and tried not to pay too much attention to the weeks remaining.
I’m not one for making decisions out of fear. I’m not a rebel or risk-taker, don’t get me wrong, but I didn’t want to deny myself or my son an important milestone. So I took my friends up on their standing offer.
Two of my favorite people in the world gave me an awesome baby shower earlier this month. Lindsay (black sweater in the photo) and Misty (poppy sweater) are practically my sisters. They made my shower perfect, accommodating lots of special dietary needs for guests (including me) and finding some of the cutest decorations ever. And the food and blue punch were delicious!
We invited close friends and family to keep it simple (and to avoid overcrowding). I’ve been on bed rest and only get limited time each week out of the house so it was really nice to see so people and visit in person. I hadn’t seen most of my friends and extended family in more than six months. How crazy is that? It was really fun to hang out with everyone for a couple hours.
I think those whale and polka dot balloons are full of magical unicorn dust because they are still floating in our nursery nearly three weeks later. Love, love, love!
Looks like a fun time for all! 😉
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful day with all of us! Now go back to bed:)
Lindsay and Misty are two of my favorite people in the world, too! Awesome shower!!!
