a favorite adventure: canopy tours in Costa Rica

About five years ago, Zach and I planned a trip to Costa Rica. We found an incredible deal at Banana Azul, a hotel in Puerto Viejo de Limon, on the Caribbean coast. We had a blast. We were a five-minute walk from the beach, which was nice. We didn’t spend too much time on the beach since Costa Rica is so close to the equator. And I thought Texas was hot!

Stray dogs roam all over Costa Rica, at least where we were. We met many friendly pups while we were there.

I could write a pages and pages about the trip, but basically all you need to know is the people are warm and welcoming, the food is some of the best I’ve had in any of the roughly dozen countries I’ve gotten to visit, and the country is beautiful. I think my favorite part of our adventure was the zipline canopy tour we did. We were a sweaty mess by the end of it, but it was such a cool way to see the forest.

Zach and I were sweaty and gross after the canopy tour, but it was a good kind of sweaty and gross. 🙂

That was the last real vacation we took. We’ve been on a few short trips since then, usually for Zach’s triathlons. When is the last time you went on an adventure?

There are lots of places I still want to visit someday. If you could go anywhere, where would you go?

  1. There are so many places I would go I don’t know where to begin. I would love to see the Redwoods in California, Vancouver Island, the Black Forest in Germany, lava flows in Hawaii. Yes, I think my first choice would be Hawaii.
