It’s that time of the month for the DMA. You know you love Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art. Be there 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, August 17, 2012.
Admission is $10 or less and the night includes twitter treasure hunts, yoga for kids, live performances and more. An art historian will provide a special tour of the exhibition The Legacy of the Plumed Serpent in Ancient Mexico. Check out the evening’s schedule for all the fun details.

Attention fellow nature lovers: The Trinity River Audubon Center is offering $1 admission all day every day this month. Visit TRAC 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012.
The center offers 6,000 acres birds, wildlife and plants with a hardwood forest, wetlands and grasslands. TRAC offers a downloadable trail map and a checklist of birds common to the center. Audubon.org warns that many species of birds are being affected by climate change, including the beautiful owl above. A visit to TRAC is sure to make you want to help our feathered friends. And you may even be inspired to become one of the more than 40 million bird watchers in the U.S.

You know Shark Week is here, right? And it’s the 25th anniversary. Here’s a great way to cap off Shark Week and your weekend without remaining glued to your couch: Check out Sharky Sunday at the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science with special guest Kelly Morales of SeaWorld San Antonio. Pricing varies; Planet Shark Admission is $18 for adults and $13 to $16 for children.
The museum features a 12,000 square foot shark exhibit where you can learn all about the creatures. Visit the museum noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012. And hurry if you want to check out the popular shark dissection at 1 p.m. Rumor has it the room fills up fast.
