I’m ready for fall and winter to arrive. Who else is ready for cooler weather? It seems like ages since I’ve seen snowflakes resting on my car’s sunroof.
I’ve been collecting yummy recipes that remind me of fall and winter on my Yum board. Baked pumpkin spice donut holes? Yes, please! I’m thinking of making those this weekend just to sit in the air conditioning and pretend it’s not 100-plus degrees outside.
We suffer through out-of-control temps and humidity in Dallas, starting in May (sometimes April) and continuing through September. We usually have two seasons: Evil Hot Humidity (aka summer) and Biting Cold Wind (aka winter). It seems the heat and drought are bad across the U.S. this summer.
One of my favorite local heatwave treats is shaved ice from Enticed. (Tigers blood is the way to go. It’s like magic.) What’s your go-to cure for sweltering temps?
My favorite summer cool treat is a banana snow cone. Maybe we will have an early Fall and a long winter.
